As a new member, you’ve joined over 300 businesses working together to promote economic vitality and quality of life in La Grange. Here are some key ways to begin maximizing your benefits and start making your membership work for YOU!

STEP ONE: OPTIMIZE YOUR BUSINESS

Review your online business profile for exposure on our website which generally has 80k views. You have been given an online listing that contains your basic contact information and a link to your website. It also allows you to post Member-to-Member offers, hot deals, job postings, news releases and more.

This is your opportunity to be sure your business has its best foot forward. Contact Lori Donahoe with any questions about changes to your Member Profile.​

STEP TWO: STAY ON TOP OF COMMUNICATION

Watch for our weekly eNewsletter. Our weekly eNewsletter is distributed each Wednesday and is filled with news, programs, and member promotions. Make sure you’re providing us with important updates about your business that you’d like our members to know. Tip: We encourage you to have all relevant staff members sign up to receive eNewsletters as well. If you don’t begin receiving your email newsletter withing two weeks of joining, please let us know.
Read our online Meet the Expert blogs. We accept member submissions for these blogs which are submitted to us regularly and reposted on our website, social channels and La Grange Patch. Please contact Nancy Cummings, our Executive Director, for consideration of your blog topic.
Connect with the LGBA and your fellow members on our social media channels. You’ll find us on on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Our social media channels keep you up to date on what’s going on in La Grange and share news from our members. Tag us and share your business stories & accomplishments!

STEP THREE: ORIENT YOURSELF

Attend a New Member Orientation. This event is an introduction to the LGBA for new members, held each month via Zoom conference. Check our event page for upcoming dates!

Connect with your ambassador. Shortly after becoming a member you will be assigned an ambassador who will help you navigate your first few months of membership. They will reach out to you by email or phone. Be sure to take advantage of their knowledge!

Get familiar with our programs to see how you might get involved. Staff contacts are listed on each page. Feel free to reach out!

Review advertising and sponsorship opportunities. These are constantly being updated as new programming is added throughout the year. Sponsorship opportunities and benefits are listed within each event if applicable.

STEP FOUR: PARTICIPATE

Attend our Monthly Member Meetings (virtual for the time-being) and held on the second Thursday of the month, at 9am.

Sign up to attend LGBA events. Right now our events might be virtual, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t powerful! You can browse, register and pay online. Members always receive priority pricing and/or admission. Once restrictions on public gatherings are lifted, you’ll have lots of in-person events to choose from as well including La Grange After Work, Coffee & Conversations,  Lunch & Learns, among others!

STEP FIVE: PROMOTE YOUR MEMBERSHIP

​Ensure your customers and prospective customers know you’re a member of the La Grange Business Association. Studies show that when consumers know that a small business is a member of their local business group, they are 44% more likely to think favorably of it and 63% more likely to purchase goods or services from your organization in the future!
Display your LGBA window decal. Spread the word about your membership; proudly telling customers and prospective customers you are a member and showcasing your membership on your website, email signature and advertising.
